First Assignment Ryan Urban

Hello everyone, my name is Ryan Urban. when it comes to the media, i am not the biggest follower, and i definitely do not play a big role. but at the same time i am to an extent. i do in fact use social media, to follow along with classmates, family, friends, etc. (Facebook, instagram, twitter.) I do not see to much of the media, as i do not watch much tv. if i do watch anything, i will mostly be using either hulu or netflix.

The main place that i will see news and things of that sort would be facebook. I see many things from news sources, or even people sharing things. When i find something that I find interesting, or even involves me or someone i know i will usually share the link on my page and add my input into it. Usually when i share things, my friends or family will share their input, and at times it can spark a conversation.

Social media can cause more than just conversations. when anything is posted, many people throughout the world can see it. Everyone has their own opinion on things, and that then will lead to acts of resistance and sometimes protests. Not everyone sees things the same way as other people do, and this sparks these acts.

The media covers these acts as well. the media puts out the information, and when something big happens, this leads to people getting together that see the same views, and from there they will then form an act of resistance together. you can also reach out in the world and meet new people that have the same views as you and then that can form something from there, simply from the media.
