(I will give you my quote
in class.)
People
all over the world discriminate based on your race/ethnicity, age, educational level
and gender. There are many beliefs of the meaning patriarchy. Many citizens of
this country obey the meaning of patriarchy. From the Hells Book reading, “Patriarchy
is a political-social system that insists that males are inherently dominating,
superior, to everything and everyone deemed weak, especially females, and
endowed with the right to dominate through various forms of psychological terrorism
and violence”(p.2). The writer talked about how it was hard to live in a patriarchy
family. She couldn’t play with the same toys as her brother. She couldn’t get aggressive
or rude. Also, her father would beat her if she didn’t listen to the male
figure. Women were expected to clean, make food, and raise the kids. While the
men work the farm, go into politics, be in the military, and run businesses. Through
the definition of patriarchy, the best example is our president of this
country, Donald Trump. I believed President Trump is perfect as a character of patriarchy.
He is white, a millionaire, and has a lot of political power. Also, Donald Trump
is known for being a man who insulted women in the public. He insulted all
Muslim women, victims of sexual harassment, and he insulted Supreme Court
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Moreover, many females created songs that
objectify male dominance. Some music created by the female are Salt-N-Pepa, Liz
Phair, Janet Jackson, Nicky Minaj, Katy Perry and The Shangri- Las. Those songs
objectified male dominance in different ways. I believe that patriarchy made females
lives a little harder. American is known for equality. But males get more money on
their paycheck then women. Male figures will more likely get a promotion the women.
"I put the definition of feminist in my song and on my tour, not for propaganda or to proclaim to the world that I'm a feminist, but to give clarity to the true meaning. I'm not really sure people know or understand what a feminist is, but it's very simple. It's someone who believes in equal rights for men and women," she told Elle. "I don't understand the negative connotation of the word, or why it should exclude the opposite sex. If you are a man who believes your daughter should have the same opportunities and rights as your son, then you're a feminist. We need men and women to understand the double standards that still exist in this world, and we need to have a real conversation so we can begin to make changes."- Beyonce.
Women are standing up to men. Popular artists such as Uzo Aduba,Patricia Arquette, Emily Blunt,Zooey Deschanel,Ariana Grande, and Mila Kunis. Mostly they talk about how unfair it is to live as a woman than men. Also, how women need to behave better than man. They can't take the same pictures as men or else they will be called worse things.
